Breach Decision and Suspension Notice – Khalsa Television Limited
Ofcom has found that Khalsa Television Limited, which broadcasts to the Sikh community in the United Kingdom, broke our rules by broadcasting material likely to encourage or to incite the commission of crime or to lead to disorder on its service KTV.
Ofcom found this breach of the Broadcasting Code to be serious and for the reasons set out in our Suspension Notice, has today exercised its powers under section 239 of the Communications Act 2003 to suspend Khalsa Television Limited’s licence.
It now has 21 days in which to make representations to Ofcom about the matters contained in the Suspension Notice.
Depending upon the consideration of any further representations, Ofcom may decide either to lift the suspension or to revoke Khalsa Television Limited’s licence.
