Ofcom named a Times Top 50 employer for women

We’re pleased to announce that Ofcom has again been recognised as a Times Top 50 employer for women.

The top 50 list, run by Business in the Community, identifies employers that make gender equality part of their business strategy and make efforts to bring it to life at all levels of the organisation.

Applicants are assessed on a range of areas, including their approach to recruitment, family-friendly policies and how they have championed gender equality during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

I’m absolutely delighted we are being recognised for the work we’re doing, and I’d like to extend my thanks to all of those across Ofcom who have helped to make our organisation an outstanding place for women to work.

We’re supporting colleagues through the pandemic with great initiatives like dependants’ leave to help parents manage childcare and work. We’ve refreshed our family friendly policies. We’ve put in place a dedicated wellbeing programme.

We’re really proud of these initiatives. But we recognise there’s still more to do. And I’m really excited about the next steps we’ll take in our new diversity and inclusion strategy.

Kerri-Ann O’Neill, Ofcom’s Director of People & Transformation

Organisations with a presence in the UK can apply to be included on the top 50 list by detailing what they are doing to work towards gender equality in their organisation. The list is selected by gender equality experts at Business in the Community and is published by The Times.
