Stakeholder engagement plans

21 Ebrill 2015

An important part of the Strategic Review of Digital Communications will be to ensure that we gather and understand the views of a full range of interested stakeholders. Ofcom will engage with a wide range of organisations from an early point in the review.

First, we are holding an open stakeholder forum on Monday 11 May 2015 for any organisation, representative body or individual with an interest in the digital communications sector and our review. Further details.

To supplement the stakeholder forum, Ofcom will then organise a series of smaller meetings and working roundtables to gather further detailed views on the review and shape our Phase 1 discussion document. We will invite key industry stakeholders, consumer groups, the UK Government, public policy stakeholders, academics, and other regulatory bodies as appropriate to these discussions.

We will also be holding meetings with key stakeholders and the devolved administrations in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Our stakeholder engagement will seek views on a range of areas including:

  • end user demand and use of communications services;

  • the business models and strategies of communications service providers;

  • the effectiveness of wholesale and retail competition;

  • network availability and investment incentives;

  • new technologies and network convergence;

  • available regulatory remedies to competition concerns; and

  • the scope for deregulation or alternative approaches to regulation.

If you have any questions regarding the review, would like more information on our stakeholder engagement plans, or would prefer to submit your views on the review in writing, please contact us via digital.communications.review@ofcom.org.uk.
