This page gathers together research on the availability and experience of communications services for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the UK, defined as businesses with fewer than 250 employees.

SME Communications research

Ofcom's primary duty is to further the interests of consumers and citizens in relation to communications matters; this includes business consumers, who are an important part of the UK communications market. This research explored the SME consumer experience in the communications market. A quantitative survey was conducted among SME (1-249 employees) decision makers using a mixed CATI (computer aided telephone interviewing) and online methodology. The topics covered included communications services used, attitudes, satisfaction, switching, net neutrality and contracts.
