Analogue commercial radio
Bristol licence re-advertisement
Following the ‘pre-advertisement’ of this licence last month, Ofcom has received two ‘declarations of intent’ to apply for the local FM commercial radio licence for Bristol, from the following companies:
- Celador Radio Limited (the incumbent licensee, broadcasting as ‘The Breeze’).
- Nation Broadcasting Limited.
We are today publishing a full licence re-advertisement for Bristol (PDF, 710.3 KB).
Ipswich licence re-advertisement
Following the ‘pre-advertisement’ of this licence last month, Ofcom has received two ‘declarations of intent’ to apply for the local FM commercial radio licence for Ipswich, from the following companies:
- Town 102 Limited (the incumbent licensee, broadcasting as ‘Town 102’).

Invitations to apply under fast-track
Ofcom has received one declaration for the following licences, in each case from the current licensee. We are therefore inviting the incumbent licensee to re-apply for the licence under the ‘fast track’ procedure as set out in Ofcom’s guidelines:

Ofcom has today announced that it has re-awarded the following local FM commercial radio licences to the current licensees. The licences have been re-awarded under Ofcom’s ‘fast-track’ process, as set out in published guidelines, and will be for a period of 12 years from the current expiry date:

Addition of Last Pirate Radio - Last Pirate Radio is a pop-up radio station celebrating 50 years since the Maritime Broadcasting Act came into force. (Broadcast is from 10 September to 16 September 2017 only).

Invitation for community radio licence applications
Ofcom has invited community radio licence applications to provide services in the areas for which we received responses to our call for expressions of interest (PDF, 160.3 KB), and which overlap with existing licensed community radio service. The closing date for receipt of applications is 3pm on Tuesday 24 October 2017.
