UK broadband speeds 2008
Broadband speeds are important to consumers, helping inform their choice of ISP and affecting their experience of the internet.
However, there is a lack of robust information available on the actual speeds that consumers receive and how these relate to both the maximum possible line speeds and the advertised ‘up to’ broadband speeds they pay for.
To help address this issue we have commissioned a two-part survey to provide an improved level of understanding of current broadband performance across the UK.
- Part one involves an assessment of consumer perceptions and behaviour through a standard survey methodology.
- Part two seeks to measure actual broadband speed and quality through a network of performance measurement hardware installed in UK households.
