Review of Civils Technology and Adoption

This report reviews the various civil engineering technologies and deployment techniques (such as cable-laying techniques) used to roll-out superfast broadband networks in the UK and elsewhere. The report suggests that developments in civils tend to be evolutionary rather than revolutionary in nature, but could reduce deployment costs by around 10%, which given the extremely high costs of infrastructure deployment, could be significant.
