Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations 2015

The Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations 2015 provide an entitlement to re-use information made available by public sector bodies. They are designed to allow the public to make use of that information, where appropriate.

Ofcom is committed to making information available for reuse. Where possible we will proactively publish information on our website, to enable members of the public to understand our work and use information we produce. Our Publication Scheme sets out the sort of information we publish or is available upon request.

We also publish responses to Freedom of Information requests online.

Requests to re-use information

To re-use information under the Regulations you will need Ofcom’s permission. If you would like to make a request to re-use information that Ofcom has already published, please email information.requests@ofcom.org.uk. In your email you should set out the specific information you would like to re-use, including dates and, if published on Ofcom’s website, the web address.

If the information is not already available, but you would like to request it’s release for re-use please email information.requests@ofcom.org.uk outlining the information you require and that you would like to re-use it. We will respond to these requests within 20 working days.

Where a request for re-use is permitted, Ofcom will issue a licence for re-use of the information. It may also charge a fee - for further information please email information.requests@ofcom.org.uk.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with the response to your request for re-use, then you are entitled to ask for your case to be reviewed by Ofcom’s Secretary to the Corporation. Please send the complaint to: The Secretary to the Corporation, Ofcom, Riverside House, 2a Southwark Bridge Road, London SE1 9HA. We will usually reply within 20 working days.

If you are not content with the outcome of the review, you have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision.
