Ofcom’s Code on Television Access Services includes guidance which must be observed by the BBC in relation to providing access services (subtitles, audio description and signing) on its television channels. In line with the BBC’s Royal Charter and Agreement 2016, Ofcom is now reviewing how the BBC should make its UK Public Services accessible.
At the same time, we are consulting on changes to improve the clarity of our Code on Television Access Services for all broadcasters.
