We have recently been working closely with Comms Council UK (CCUK), the Information Commissioner’s Office and the Home Office to help produce guidance for communications providers on sharing data to help combat telecoms-enabled fraud.
Today, CCUK has published this guidance. We encourage communications providers to take account of it, in order that they can confidently and lawfully share data about fraud and scams with relevant organisations (such as law enforcement, industry partners and fraud prevention organisations) and support efforts to combat fraud.
Information about our rules and guidance for communications providers on their obligations to combat scam calls and mobile messages are available here: Tackling scam calls and texts and Combatting mobile messaging scams.
