Being able to use a smartphone over a high quality, reliable mobile connection is an essential part of everyday life. To better understand the performance of mobile data services, Ofcom has analysed crowdsourced data collected between August 2025 and July 2026 from mobile devices across the UK.
In this report we focus on:
- Differences in performance between mobile networks and technologies;
- Variations in performance by nation and local authority district;
- Response time (latency) and data connection and video streaming success rates; and
- Download and upload performance
