Statement published: July 18th 2025
We have today published our decisions to revise the Annual Licence Fees we charge for use of the 900, 1800 and 2100 MHz bands as follows:
- For 900 MHz spectrum, we will reduce the ALFs to £1.032m per MHz (a 26% reduction from current levels).
- For 1800 MHz spectrum, we will reduce ALFs to £0.760m per MHz (also a 26% reduction from current levels).
- For 2100 MHz spectrum, we will increase ALFs to £0.722m per MHz (a 6% increase from current levels).
Overall, this will reduce the total ALFs that MNOs pay from around £325m per year to around £265m per year.
We are also today consulting on proposals to amend the Mobile Trading Regulations to remove a potential barrier to trading mobile spectrum.
We have today published a consultation setting out proposals for how MNOs would pay ALFs. We are also today consulting on draft Regulations which would implement the proposals for revising the levels of ALFs set out in our December 2024 Consultation as well as our proposals to change how MNOs would pay ALFs, which are set out in today's consultation.
