This explanatory statement contains a notification of the Ofcom’s draft Direction relating to the method used by BT to calculate its wholesale conveyance charges for Number Translation Services (NTS) calls which originate on or transit the BT network for termination on NTS numbers of other Terminating Communications Providers. Ofcom is publishing this statement following Oftel’s consultation on this issue entitled 'Options for NTS Interconnection Charging', which was published in December 2003,
