Sara Nathan - Member of the Radio Authority
Sara Nathan was appointed a Member of the Radio Authority for four years from July 1999.  Her term has recently been extended to 31 December 2003.

Sara was Editor of Channel 4 News from 1995 to 1997. The programme won a number of awards during her editorship including a BAFTA for reports on war crimes in Srebrenica. Before that she was the first editor of The Magazine on Radio 5 Live. The Magazine won a Gold and a Silver Sony in its first year. Sara has worked across much of the BBC’s News and Current Affairs output on radio and television.

Sara is a member of the Ofcom board and is Deputy Chairman of the Ofcom Content Board.  She is also a member of the Human Fertility & Embryology Authority,  a lay member of the Bar Council’s Professional Conduct Committee, a member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeal Panel and the Regulatory Decisions Committee of the FSA. Sara Chairs the Children First Commission in Lambeth.

Sara is married to Malcolm Singer who is Director of Music at the Yehudi Menuhin School. They have two children and live in Acton, West London.
