Small Screen: Big Debate – competition winners announced

Earlier this year we asked young people between the age of 16 and 18 to give us their thoughts on the future of public service broadcasting. They were invited to submit written or video entries on the following topic:

What must traditional broadcasters and streaming services do to make sure they appeal to the audiences of tomorrow?

We were looking for original, innovative ideas presented creatively. Our panel of three judges, representing Ofcom, the Financial Times and Career Ready, a national charity aimed at connecting young people with the world of work, chose the following winners:

  • Drishya Rai for the video category, and
  • Janelle Oje for the blog post category.

Janelle’s winning entry was published in the Financial Times:

The judges were thrilled to receive so many imaginative and thought-provoking blog posts and videos.
