Consultation on future licensing and technical policy

Next year we propose to run a fourth round of  community radio licensing which is shorter and more focused than previous rounds. In addition we are considering changing our technical policy to better take into account individual station coverage area requirements.

This Consultation seeks views on our preferred licensing  approach for this forthcoming round and on a revised technical policy. The  closing date for responses is 22  December 2016.

‘Expressions of interest’ in applying for a licence

In order to assist our planning for future community radio development, we are inviting prospective applicants for community radio licences to submit an 'expression of interest' outlining their intention to apply PDF, 160.3 KB . The closing date for responses is 22  December 2016.

Community Radio Licence Applicants

Ofcom has published the list of community radio licence applicants for the final two regions in the current round of licensing, London and other areas within the M25, and AM: Locations throughout the UK, excluding London and areas within the M25.
