Summary

This event is designated as a major event, where frequency assignments need to be carefully controlled.

Online booking is unavailable for this event. If you are a new applicant, please complete both parts of the application form and send it via email to pmse@ofcom.org.uk

If you are an existing stakeholder, please send your requirements to us via email.

Important information

For coordination, we need to know:

  • the number of wireless microphones – this includes hand held, belt pack (lapel/lavalier) or instrument pack (guitar/bass) transmitters and their tuning range(s), low to high, in MHz;
  • the number of wireless in ear monitors (IEMs) or IFBs and their tuning range(s), low to high, in MHz
  • the number of radio talkback systems (including ‘set to set’, ‘walkie talkies’ or ‘road radios’);
  • the number of wireless cameras;
  • equipment frequency tuning ranges, low to high in MHz/GHz, or the pre-programmed frequency list (greater flexibility will aid the coordination process);
  • dates that the frequencies will be operated;
  • the performer/band name and stage name (if at a festival); and
  • the exact location of where radio talkback base station antennas will be on site.

Major events are not subject to our usual application process or turnaround time, as there is high demand for frequencies and these need to be managed carefully.

When a licence has been processed, we will send a secure payment link to the applicant. We will issue the licence and send it to the applicant once we have received confirmation of payment.

You must pay for the licence before the start of the event, or else we will not release any frequencies and you will not be licensed to use them.

Ofcom’s PMSE team accepts debit/credit cards and bank transfers. We can also take payment from existing carnet tokens. Please note that we cannot accept payments made by American Express (AMEX).
