Inclusion of the 1452 – 1492 MHz, 2350-2390 MHz and 3410-3600 MHz bands in the Mobile Trading Regulations - Further consultation and notice of proposal to make regulations

  • Start: 08 April 2015
  • Status: Statement published
  • End: 08 May 2015

This document sets out our decision to make spectrum in the 1452 -1492 MHz, 2350-2390 MHz and 3410-3600 MHz bands subject to the Mobile Trading Regulations.

This means that, before licences in these bands can be traded, Ofcom's consent is required and Ofcom may conduct a competition assessment to determine whether the trade may distort competition.

At the same time as making this decision, we have also made a related decision to vary the spectrum access licence for the 1452 -1492 MHz band held by Qualcomm UK Spectrum Ltd so as to enable its use for provision of mobile services (using Supplementary Downlink technology). That decision is contained in a separate statement published today.
