News consumption in the UK 1 February 2017 Face to face omnibus survey Research into news consumption across television, radio, print and online.
Ofcom is currently in the process of reviewing the News Survey in order to ensure that it remains fit for purpose. This means that there may be differences to the next survey including different questions and a different methodology.

Residential Postal Tracker 2016 27 February 2017 Mix of online and face-to-face survey

Dataset of the residential postal tracking survey conducted in Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 2016, providing data on residential consumers' use of post and attitudes to postal services.

This report will be  published a day later than scheduled to accommodate an upgrade to the Ofcom website, which would affect publication on the original pre-announced date.

Business Postal Tracker 2016 27 February 2017 Telephone survey

Dataset of the postal tracking survey of UK SMEs conducted in Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 2016. The survey provides data on postal services use, in terms of volumes sent, received, amount spent, postal products and services used an attitudes to postal services.

Note: The data tables were reissued on 25 April 2017. The revised version provides clarification of some of the table filter descriptions. The data itself has not changed.

Customer complaints research: Quality of service 1 March 2017 Online survey These sets of data tables contain the results from an online survey which was used to interview customers who had made contact with their provider with a complaint six months prior to the interview. It explores reason for and satisfaction with the providers handling of the complaint.

Please note: total market data is weighted and provider level data is unweighted.

This set of data tables provides information on consumers' experience of nuisance calls.

Note - as of May 2017 the fieldwork schedule for this study will change to three times a year: January, May and September. All other aspects of the research methodology and core questions remain unchanged.

Data showing total revenues and volumes for the UK addressed letter market in FY2016-17.

From FY 2017-18 we propose changing the basis on which annual letters volumes and revenues is collected, impacting the statistics we will publish relating to 2017-18 revenues and volumes. This proposal would mean that we no longer collect volumes and revenues from postal operators whose combined annual access letters and end-to end letter volumes is less than two million items a year. We consider that this change will remove regulatory burdens from the smallest operators while having no material impact on the quality of data we collect or our ability to monitor the market.
