The broadband speed you will experience in your home is affected by a number of factors. As a result, it is not always possible for customers to get an exact estimate of speed when they buy a service from a broadband provider.
The Broadband Speeds Codes of Practice mean customers are provided with the best information when they buy a broadband service. And, because this information can’t always be accurate, the codes also offer a way for customers to exit their contract if their speeds don’t match what their provider promised.
This guide explains what information you should be given now when you buy your broadband service. We are also improving the information provided to customers and these improvements will start from 1 March 2019.
